Restylane/Sculptra: The modern working woman is beset with many challenges, one of which is maintaining a professional appearance. This sometimes means that high heeled shoes must be worn throughout the day to conform with dress code and expected apparel. Needless to say, this often is the cause of chronic pain in the ball of the foot. Dr. Kornfeld utilizes injections of the the well known wrinkle fillers Restylane and Sculptra to create a comfortable “internal” pad so that the patient can walk in high heeled shoes without the associated pain and suffering.
Although Botox is now very well known for its effect in reducing wrinkles and creases in the skin, it also has applications for people who suffer from excessive perspiration. In the foot, excessive perspiration can lead to embarrassing and offensive foot odor. When injected into the skin, Botox will have no effect on the natural muscle function in the foot, but will disable the sweat glands, thereby significantly reducing and controlling excessive perspiration. This has been a great relief to many people who are ashamed and embarrassed to remove their shoes in company.
